On the way to Firenze in the morning, we plan on stopping at Mall Firenze, a luxury outlet store just outside of town. Reservations have already been made at Gucci and Salvatore Ferragamo. If you wish to visit these stores, feel free to tag along with us. Once we arrive in the birthplace of the renaissance mastered by the Medici family so many centuries ago, we plan to visit the Uffizi Gallery, tour the Florence Cathedral and stroll through the Piazza della Signoria with gelato in hand, admire the Boboli Garden and Pitti Palace in the Oltrarno quarter of Florence and end our day with a walk across Ponte Vecchio.
6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Visit Poggio Molina's private wine cellar with an explanation of production methods and aging process. Enjoy a four-course food and wine pairing of amazing local dishes crafted by Chef Alba and using seasonally fresh produce picked directly from their private garden with meats processed by the estate's butcher. Every dish will be paired with care by Poggio Molina's Sommelier.
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Settled upon the ruins of an Etruscan temple built before the Roman Empire even existed, La Pieve di San Giovanni Batista a Galatrona is a beautiful reminder that beyond our mortality, His faith remains, and His church will survive us all. First recorded evidence of this now Catholic chapel's existence dates back to 774 AD. Adorning this humble chapel are beautiful works of art commissioned by 16th century Bishop, and patron of the arts, Leonardo Buonafede including a baptismal font, reliefs and glazed furniture sculpted by renaissance artist Giovanni della Robbia in 1521. What better tribute, and more fitting an example of His steadfast love for us than this humble place that has lasted millennia. His love never fails, His love is eternal, and His love is yours to receive.
