We were introduced through good friends (the McCarthy gals). We fell for each other from day one and both knew we never wanted to be apart (sappy love story but true!). It turned out we lived just a block from each and despite many mutual friends our paths had never crossed until then.

We were on a birthday getaway in Asheville, NC. We went on a hike through the Great Smokey Mountains along the Boogerman Trail (recommended to us by our friend and orienteer, Dave). We stopped for a photo at one of the large Tulip Poplars. Much to my surprise, Danny got down on one knee and popped the question!
