Boasting more annual visitors than the Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, and San Antonio River Walk - the Stockyards are Fort Worth's most iconic spot. Walk down N. Main to Exchange and see the sights. Don't miss the twice-daily cattle drives at 11:30am and 4pm! Take in some live music at the White Elephant Saloon, swing by Billy Bob's to the see "World's Largest Honky Tonk", or catch the world's only year-round rodeo in the historic Cowtown Coliseum (Fridays at 7:30pm)!
Three world-class art museums in as many blocks! The Modern, The Kimbell, and The Amon Carter are all worth seeing. The Amon Carter boasts some of the country's best western art and admission is free! Lunch at Café Modern is a highlight, and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden located nearby is beautiful!
The oldest continuous zoo site in Texas, the Fort Worth Zoo was founded in 1909 with one lion, two bear cubs, an alligator, a coyote, a peacock and a few rabbits. From these humble beginnings, the Zoo has grown into a nationally ranked facility, housing more than 7,000 native and exotic animals.
Sundance Square is the heart of downtown Fort Worth - home to restaurants, live music venues, theatres, shops, nightlife and the beautiful Bass Performance Hall, named as one of the top 10 opera houses in the world. Check out the Sid Richardson Museum around the corner (free admission!) for some top notch western art!
Walkable area with great food and some shopping! Don't miss MELT ice cream. Avoca and Cherry Coffee Shop are two of my favorite local coffee shops. Paris Coffee Shop is a Fort Worth staple and Brewed is great for brunch!
One of our favorite Fort Worth restaurants! Great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Press Cafe is located on the Trailhead at the Clearfork River with a nice outdoor patio and easy access to the Clearfork walking trail.
All things grilled, roasted, and slow-cooked, featuring daily rotating selections of wild game, fish, and vegetables. Located on the Trinity River with outdoor seating, access to the walking trail, and occasional live music on Saturdays.
Chef Tim Love’s restaurant offers creative takes on Western cuisine, with dishes like bison, elk, and wild boar. The rustic atmosphere adds to the experience. Located in the Stockyards.
Acclaimed Texas barbecue joint, renowned for its brisket, particularly its signature "bacon burnt ends" - a must-try caramelized pork belly treat - all cooked with a "farm-to-smoker" approach.
