The Wedding of Caitlin & Elizabeth
Our Story
Cait and Liz began dating in October 2020 during the pandemic. Their first date was at a wine bar in Des Moines, where they both lived at the time. The entire date lasted 45 minutes - it was the least Liz had ever spoken, and the most Cait has to date.
Several dates later, Cait asked Liz to be her girlfriend. In classic Liz fashion she stated that "she would need to think about it." Liz told Cait yes shortly after, and rumor has it Liz still regrets making Cait wait.
Since then, Cait and Liz have moved to Chicago, and created a life with the sweetest cat and dog in the world. In December 2022, Liz planned a surprise proposal at the Wrigley Building Christmas Tree. Luckily, when Liz asked Cait to marry her, she answered right away.
Cait and Liz have differing perspectives when they reflect back on their first date, though both agree that they knew this relationship would be different than any other.
Bernard
"Best Bernie"
Bernard loves long walks in the neighborhood (if the temperature is between 60 and 75 degrees), eating everything he sees on the ground, stealing all of our socks, and terrorizing his sister. 10/10 doggo. 20/10 best friend.
Nora
"Bean of Honor"
Nora knows her worth and holds her standards. Favorite treat? Ice cream. Favorite toy? String. Favorite animal? Anyone but Bernard. Originally bothered (devastated) when Liz turned their family of two into three, she is slowly accepting (tolerating) the idea.
