You need to visit Round Rock Donuts! It is an absolute MUST if you've never had them! The Texas sized donut is the perfect share size! (Unless you're like the bride, then it is the perfect personal size! You just won't be able to eat more than one, unfortunately...) They are the best donuts in the area, so as you can imagine, the line can get pretty hectic, but they are pretty well organized and decently timely. There are only 2 locations right now, Round Rock and a new one they opened in Cedar Park, Texas. But they are absolutely WORTH it! You will not regret giving them a try!
We went here one weekend while we were out exploring the area a bit. It's definitely a must see for our out of towner guests!
If you're looking for something fun to do, whether it be the family, or just the adults. We recommend spending a day here! You don't have to worry about it being too cold outside or getting a sunburn since it's all inside! We were lucky enough to be able to spend a weekend here once in the winter, and we didn't even give it any thought to being in a waterpark in the middle of winter! Between the water slides and the arcade there was plenty of fun. The roller coaster and gym climb were fun as well, plus, they have a secret 21+ hideout. So you can drink and float! The arcade has plenty of games, and the prize shack has a lot of options as well!
If our out of town guests are wanting some Texas style pie anytime, day or night, they've got you covered with a 24/7 Pie Vending Machine!
If you're looking to explore in the outdoors a bit, check out McKinney Roughs Nature Park. There's about 18 miles of hiking trails, a visitors center that tells you a bit about the wildlife in the area, and this forest is home to the Lost Pines. The Lost Pines got their name because this group of Loblolly pine trees, are located over 100 miles away from any other Loblolly's!
Zilker Park is a great place to explore! Located right next to the river, you can rent kayaks, go swimming at Barton Springs, play on their playground, and take a relaxing walk through the botanical gardens!
