Jesse and Liz met the first day of classes in undergrad at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. They were both lost freshman looking for violin lockers and decided it'd be best to have a buddy. They lived together on and off in college and somehow managed to survive the demands of a music degree. Liz's wedding day would not be complete without Jesse! To quote Liz's mom, "Of COURSE Jesse is your maid of honor!"
Steven Purwin
Best Man
Known colloquially as “Purwin,” the best man met Brian all the way back in elementary school in Albuquerque, where they found out that they were neighbors. They have been through thick and thin together, and many great times were had.
Dominique Lueke
Bridesmaid
Liz met Dominique in college through the Maid of Honor, Jesse. Jesse was roommates with Dominique. Liz, Jesse, and Dominique hung out together. Then Jesse and Dominique became roommates with Liz. Dominique and Liz bonded over Grey's Anatomy, ice cream, and Phase 10. The rest is history. Liz was honored to stand up in Dominique's wedding in 2014.
Robert Nelson
Groomsman
Robert and Brian met in middle school in Albuquerque, and played on the same soccer team for years. Along with Purwin, the three hung out all the time in high school, and have been inseparable ever since, even after Brian left Albuquerque for college at Purdue.
Amy Schouten
Bridesmaid
Amy is Liz's sister. Amy and Liz used to play power rangers with their three brothers. Amy was the yellow ranger and Liz was the pink ranger.
John Luo
Groomsman
John and Brian were in the same research group in graduate school at Purdue. They shared an office and grappled together through the arduous task of completing Ph.D.’s in electrical engineering. John was Brian’s work husband. They also managed to have some fun and eat way too much bulgogi at Korean BBQs.
Meghan Bentz
Bridesmaid
Meghan and Brian go way back to the beginning of life. Meghan is Brian's sister. Meghan made Liz feel at home immediately. When they all went to Harry Potter World, Meghan made Liz feel at ease by geeking out with her.
Tim Scheidler
Groomsman
Tim and Brian met as undergraduates at Purdue and were roommates for several years. Tim was one of the first people to meet Liz after she and Brian started dating. Also, Tim drank too much long island iced tea once and almost threw up in Brian’s Mustang, which Brian will never let him live down. Brian was a groomsman in Tim’s wedding in 2015.
Ben Krickhahn
Usher
Ben is Liz's big brother. He has ushered between 2 and 50 weddings. Ben and Liz grew up pointing out water towers and street cleaners to anyone who would listen (and even those who wouldn't). Though they fought a lot as kids, they get along as adults (guess mom was right).
Stephen Wolf
Usher
Stephen and Brian met as undergraduates at Purdue, where they spent a lot of time at the campus bars and drinking Code Red Mountain Dew with vodka in Stephen’s dorm room. Every once in a while they also got some homework done though. Stephen went to Stanford for graduate school, where he got a Ph.D. degree in the same research field as Brian and John.
