Pithi Ceremony (optional)

9:00 am - 11:30 am

Etre Farms
472 West Glenlord Road, St. Joseph, MI 49085

Attire | Indian or American summer casual

A Pithi is also known as a holy bath which Anuj will partake in before our wedding ceremony. Traditionally, the women in his family will apply oil and water onto Anuj, which is believed to bless him before the wedding. While this event is typically for the groom and his family, all guests are invited to participate if they choose. A light Indian breakfast will be served at 8:30am.

Sangeet

6:00 pm

Attire | American Cocktail or Indian Semi-Formal. Pending weather, the event will be outside.

This festive night is a celebration of the union of the couple and the bonding of both families and friends. Essentially a welcome party, the word 'Sangeet' translates to 'sung together', and is also used to describe a celebratory event during an Indian wedding. Come ready to eat, mingle, and dance as we kick off the wedding celebrations! Women traditionally wear bright hues in the form of lehengas or saris, but please come dressed in whatever attire you prefer.

Baraat Ceremony

12:00 pm - 12:30 pm

Attire | American or Indian Semi-Formal

Guests will meet in the Etre parking lot and join the precession as Anuj, along with all family and friends, parade towards the ceremony spot. In Indian culture, it is customary for the groom to travel to the wedding venue accompanied by his friends and family. Since this weekend is a fusion of both cultures and families, Elizabeth's family and friends are highly encouraged to join as well. Trust us, you won't want to miss it!

Lagna Prasang

1:00 pm

Attire | American or Indian Semi-Formal

Lagna Prasang is the traditional name for the Hindu wedding ceremony. The Baraat procession will lead Anuj and our guests directly to the ceremony where he and Elizabeth will exchange vows. If you choose to dress in Indian clothing, dusty pastels are recommended and black or white are best avoided on this day. If you're attending an Indian wedding for the first time, feel free to dress in attire you'd typically wear to an American wedding ceremony.

Dinner & Dancing

6:30 pm

Attire | American or Indian Formal, Black Tie Optional, Party Pants Mandatory

Dinner, dancing & libations AKA cocktail hour and reception! This event will be a true fusion of both cultures so please come dressed in whatever you're most comfortable dancing the night away in. For reference, Anuj and his groomsmen will be in suits and Elizabeth's friends and family can wear traditional American wedding attire.
