Question

What time zone is South Bend, IN in (and other timing questions)?

Answer

South Bend, Indiana is in the Eastern time zone. For those traveling into or from Chicago, please note that Chicago is in the Central time zone. We would hate for anyone to miss flights due to time zone concerns! Additionally, please note that Daylight Savings will occur on Sunday March 13th at 2:00 am. We will "spring forward" to 3:00 am at this time.

Question

How can I take a tour of campus?

Answer

Unfortunately, official campus tours are currently halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to monitor and be sure to set up tours for our guests if they are available by the time of our wedding. If not available, however, we recommend that you download the "ND Mobile" app. Once you download the app, select your "persona" as "Guest". Then click on the "Tours" icon (should be in the top left corner). This will allow you to do a virtually guided tour of campus. We hope the weather cooperates.

Question

What are your favorite spots to visit on campus?

Answer

Some of our must-see/must-do stops at Notre Dame include: Saying a prayer and lighting a candle at the Grotto; Taking a picture in front of the Golden Dome (you can't miss it, this is also called "Main Building"); Throwing up your best touchdown arms in front of Touchdown Jesus (aka the Hesburgh Library); Walking around the beautiful lakes on campus (St. Mary's and St. Joseph's); Visiting South Dining Hall (some say it looks like Hogwarts!); and Maybe even making the "long distance" walk from Elizabeth's dorm Welsh Family Hall on West Quad to Andrew's dorm Keenan Hall on North Quad. Enjoy!

Question

How should I travel to the Wedding Ceremony and Wedding Reception?

Answer

We will have shuttle service on Saturday. The bus will run loops from the three local hotels -- Embassy Suites, Fairfield Inn and Morris Inn -- to the Basilica. There will be one shuttle picking up from the parking lot shared by Embassy Suites and Fairfield Inn and another that picks up from Morris Inn. The buses will leave for their first route promptly at 1:50 and their second route promptly at 2:30. Buses will also be available to shuttle guests from the Ceremony to the Reception after the entire group takes a picture on the steps of the Golden Dome. Lastly, buses will provide transport home to the three hotels starting at 9:30 pm and ending with one final route at the end of the reception. Guests may also drive to the Ceremony and Reception. For the Ceremony, please instruct the attendants at the North Gate that you are attending a wedding at the Basilica and proceed to park in the Basilica lot. For the reception, please park in the stadium lot.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for Saturday's Wedding Ceremony and Wedding Reception is Cocktail Attire. The dress code for Friday's Welcome Reception is Casual.

Question

Where are the various events located on campus?

Answer

Please refer to the campus map linked available at: https://map.nd.edu/ The ceremony will be held at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, which is slightly west of the Golden Dome (Notre Dame's Main Building). The cocktail hour and reception are both located in the Notre Dame Football Stadium, within the Duncan Student Center which sits on the west side of the stadium.

Question

How should I travel to the Welcome Reception?

Answer

Our welcome reception on Friday evening is located inside of Embassy Suites. Embassy Suites is located conveniently across the parking lot from the Fairfield Inn. For those guests that prefer to drive, parking is available in the parking garage directly next to the Embassy Suites and is free for up to two hours (with paid parking afterwards).

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

If your kids were invited we would love them to come and join us in the celebration!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

If you have a food allergy please let us know by noting such on your RSVP and we will do the best to accommodate your needs!
