Amy and Elizabeth have both always been rule followers. You can call up any of our elementary school teachers, and they will tell you that we were a "pleasure to have in class." Our childhood friends could probably tell you how annoyingly difficult it was to convince either of us to step out of line. However, one fateful day, we both broke one rule that had been ingrained in us from childhood: Never talk to a stranger online. During the pandemic, we both joined an online group for people who enjoyed the same (very nerdy) Dungeons and Dragons podcast. Amy posted a selfie in a University of Delaware sweatshirt, and Elizabeth, who grew up 15 minutes away, had an immediate crush. We began talking regularly about our lives, our ambitions, and, yes, DnD - video chatting until the early hours of the morning. It wasn't long before we realized that we were falling for the person on the other end of the phone. Our first date was at Longwood Gardens, the day before Valentine's Day 2021. It was freezing cold and a winter storm was in the works, but we braved the inclement weather for the chance to finally meet in person. While nervous, the moment we were in eyesight Elizabeth ran up to kiss Amy, and the rest of the day fell into place. We clicked instantly. We soon met one another's families, who made us feel accepted and loved. After Amy graduated, she moved to Arlington, VA. She and Elizabeth braved the traffic to and from Baltimore to spend as much time together as the BW Parkway would allow. That all changed in 2022, when Amy moved to Baltimore, then again in 2024, when we moved into a charming townhome in our favorite Baltimore neighborhood. From exploring the Parisian catacombs to navigating the job market to coaxing our rescue cat, Pigeon, out of her shell, we've faced all of life's challenges head-on, side-by-side. In May of 2025, Amy proposed to Elizabeth in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in front of a piece of glass art by Dale Chihuly. Only three weeks later, Elizabeth had the chance to return the favor on a hike in Shenandoah National Park. We couldn't be more pleased that breaking a rule worked out for us both and can't wait to celebrate the next chapter of our lives as one another's wives!
