Technically, their story began as acquaintances when they both started PA school at South University in Savannah, GA. The first time they really talked was at a class bonfire within the first few months of school (cause who doesn't like s'mores?) They talked about how exciting the new Bill Nye on Netflix was, but alas neither followed up on plans to watch it together. Fast forward to the second class bonfire. By this point, Alex had been sitting behind Elizabeth (loudly!) talking through class for about a year and a half. But that didn't stop them from talking again, this time about Alex's new acquisition of Mario Party on the N64 (cause you can't beat the classics.) He did invite her over to play with some of his friends this time though. After being convinced to go by her friends from college Sam and Hannah, she decided to brave it alone and hang out with a new group of people. Elizabeth expected to have fun, but what she didn't expect was to be completely smitten with Alex and his humor. A week later, she asked him what he was doing on a Saturday night, hoping to explore downtown Savannah with him and his friends. Instead, he counter-offered a bowling outing where naturally they were on the winning laser tag team together. Shortly after, they did get a chance to explore downtown together and not soon after that, Alex finally asked her out on a proper date (expertly navigating Valentine's Day, which happened to be that same week)! They had dinner at The 5 Spot in Savannah and talked about music, family and tv until it was far too late. They've been doing the same ever since, from trips to Philadelphia to see Alex's sister, to Cuba for a celebratory cruise, and to Maryland where they currently live. But their favorite of all of the places they've been is Bald Head Island, where the magic of the maritime forest and the calm of the beach makes everything perfect. They both hope you'll find the same peace on the island while sharing their special day.
