Two Souls Entwined

Robert and Lizzie first met in 2013 in high school. They sat on opposite sides of the big tree in their school’s courtyard during lunch with their respective friend groups. Lizzie began to develop a crush on him after she started noticing him across the planter. After following each other on social media and starting to message each other, they started to become close to each other, eventually becoming best friends. They hung out together that Halloween to carve pumpkins and watch a scary movie. It was that very night that Lizzie realized how deep her feelings for him were. It wouldn’t be until the summer after Lizzie’s sophomore year (2015) that they would finally confess their feelings to one another. On June 15th, 2015, their very first Disneyland trip together, they finally started dating.

Technically speaking, Robert proposed to Lizzie twice. Don’t worry, Lizzie obviously didn’t reject his first proposal. On November 10th, 2023 Robert and Lizzie attended a Twitching Tongues show, a band they both love. They ended up playing a song that they don’t play often called “Kill for You”. Robert made his way back to Lizzie and held her close to him during the song, eventually cupping her face and asking her to marry him. She said yes, but they didn’t officially announce anything as he wanted to present her with a ring first. That brings us to the second, more official proposal, which took place shortly after the first on November 24th, 2023. They went and did some Christmas shopping for their family and friends during the day and then went to eat burgers at their favorite beachside burger shack. After eating, they made their way over to the beach and settled in on a bench to watch the sunset. They even saw some dolphins jumping out of the water, after thinking they wouldn’t see any! As the sun began to set, Robert asked to take some photos of Lizzie. After snapping a few pictures, he told her he had something he wanted to ask her. He reached into his pocket, got down on one knee, and presented her with the ring of her dreams, asking her to marry him. Lizzie of course said yes again, excited that she could now finally announce it to their loved ones.
