On a fateful summer day in June of 2018 (the 2nd to be exact), we both made a relatively simple decision that, little did we know at the time, would forever change our lives... We both swiped right on a dating app called Bumble (Bryant would like the record to reflect that Liz swiped right on him first). For those that don't know, on Bumble, after you match with someone the girl is required to initiate "first contact" with the guy via a chat message. Liz said, "Hi there," and Bryant sent the ball right back to her court with a "Hi there back..." After some back and forth in the Bumble chat about ATL sports, college football, and Bryant trying to justify why he sold his Alabama vs Georgia National Championship tickets the year before (2nd and 26 - RTR), Bryant was able to convince Liz to give him her direct number wherein he used the opportunity to inquire about grabbing a drink or two for happy hour. Liz gave in, and Bryant chose a local spot called Red Pepper Taqueria in Brookhaven. Cheese dip, margaritas/cervezas, can't lose. Liz came from work, and Bryant concluded the workday early to "prep." Liz didn't know until much later in the relationship that said prep included pregaming the first date with a couple of Bud Lights, aka, "introvert suppressants." Bryant showed up in full Bryant Jones uniform: Tropicalia t-shirt, khakis, and flip-flops, and thankfully Liz, although still not a huge fan of pants + flip-flops combination, thankfully didn't get scared away. Jokes aside, our first date went about as well as one could go. Liz talked a lot, the beverages and the cheese dip did the trick, and that was the last first date each of us ever went on... And the rest, as they say, is history.
