Is there a recommended hotel?
Answer
Yes. Rooms are being blocked at the Desmond Hotel in Albany (Crown Plaza Hotel) for Saturday night, September 27. Eliza & Sam are asking guests to stay at the Desmond where guests can have the opportunity to interact with the couple and each other after the formal wedding festivities. You can reserve a room online @ https://book.passkey.com/e/50965063 OR by calling the hotel directly at 518-869-8100 and requesting Group Code BRZ . Transportation is being provided from the hotel to the wedding site at Thacher State Park and back. Should you choose to stay elsewhere, please note that the weekend of September 27th is family weekend at SUNY Albany so hotels will fill up early and, unfortunately, will cost more than usual. The official check in time at the Desmond Hotel begins at 4:00 p.m. Because the bus leaves at 3:30 and the wedding begins at 4:30, guests who need to change prior to the festivities should call the Desmond front desk in morning to request an early check-in (no guarantees). Check-out time is 12 noon. Please note, only 25 rooms are being held in the room block and are available on a first come basis.

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?
Answer
4:00 PM. The ceremony will start at 4:30 PM. For those taking the bus, it will leave the Desmond Hotel at 3:30 PM and arrive at the wedding site at 4:00 PM.

Will transportation be provided from hotel to venue and back?
Answer
Yes. A shuttle bus will transport guests between the Desmond Hotel and Thacher State Park visitor center. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of the shuttle bus; the back-country roads are dark, with steep hills. When you receive the wedding invitation, we will ask you to RSVP for the shuttle bus on the couple's wedding web site. The bus will leave the Desmond Hotel at 3:30 pm and depart the wedding site at 10:00 pm.

What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an after-party?
Answer
The wedding festivities will end at 10:00 pm. Although there is no formal "after-party", guests may choose to visit Mr. D’s Lounge at the Desmond Hotel.
