We met through friends, who were going on a second date to a nightclub called Talay at the time in Manhattan's Upper West Side. We both knew that we would meet each other because our friends let us know that they needed a wing man for the night. We saw pictures of each other and I guess we liked what we saw, so we both agreed. Plus it was Valentine's Day weekend so why not have a date even if it was a blind one. Not knowing what to expect was nerve racking but when we saw each other it didn't matter. We started talking instantly with no hesitation and it felt like we knew each other forever. It was instant chemistry, a connection that we both felt and it was like we were drawn to each other. We hit the dance floor and at the end of the night we kissed and we haven't stopped ever since.
I had just quit my job and had a pending trip to Europe a few days later. Eric decided that we should go out to dinner since it would be our last weekend together for the next 30 days. It was a beautiful day, we went to get breakfast, hit the gym and started getting ready to head out. I had no idea where we were going but on the way he told me we were headed to Long Island City. We went to a beautiful restaurant called Maiella that had an amazing view of the New York City skyline. After dinner he took me for a walk on the boardwalk. We talked, laughed and took pictures of the view. I was wondering at that moment is he going to ask but we were there for so long that I thought we were just going to leave and that would be the end of our night. Just then he tells me, "before we go, I want to show you the video I've been working on." With Ed Sheeran's Photograph playing in the background, I saw a video montage of pictures and videos of us for the last six years. We both started to tear up watching all of our beautiful memories and when the video ended he pulled out the box from his pocket. He was choking up but he managed to say, "I know I waited a long time to do this but will you marry me?" I screamed, "YES!!!"
