Ferry Service

There are multiple ferries to Block Island from Rhode Island (Point Judith, Newport), Connecticut (New London), and Long Island (Montauk). The ferry out of Point Judith is the only ferry that takes cars to the island and reservations are required for vehicles (book your vehicle reservation early!)

Train

Amtrak

Amtrak is a great option if traveling from Boston, New York, or DC without a car. There is a train stop in New London, CT which is right next to the ferry station. The Westerly, RI and Kingstown, RI train stops are closest to the Point Judith ferry station.

Flight

Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD)

Providence is the closest airport on the mainland. Other airports near by include Boston (Logan) and New York (La Guardia and JFK)

Flight

Block Island State Airport (BID)

There is a small airport that has flights to/from Westerly, RI to Block Island for those who would rather fly than ferry!

There are many options for accommodations on the island including hotels, inns, B&Bs, and rentals at a wide range of prices. We encourage you to choose an option that fits your preferences accordingly! Block Island Chamber of Commerce website is a great starting point to see available options.
