Things To Do

We are so excited to have you with us in Reno! Here are a few suggestions for what to do while you're in the Biggest Little City.

Eat in MidTown

Reno, NV

One of the most popular places in Reno is MidTown. With an array of delicious restaurants, thrift shops, cafes, and bars there is always something happening in this part of town. Our personal favorites include The Taco Shop, Noble Pie, Peggs Eggs, the Nevada Museum of Art (nearby) and, Pengolin.

Float the Truckee River

Floating the Truckee River is a classic way to spend a summer day in Reno. If you wish to stay in town simply pick up a raft from a local store, grab some snacks (and definitely some sunscreen), choose your launch spot, and enjoy your time. You can float for as long or as short as your heart desires. For a more official experience book a trip with the Truckee River Rafting Co in Tahoe City.

Attend The Reno Rodeo

1350 North Wells Avenue, Reno, NV 89512

Get a peek at the wild west with the 106th Reno Rodeo happening June 19-28th! Offering a market with incredible western goods, a carnival with rides and treats, as well as a night of exciting bronco riding, barrel racing, and roping competitions the Rodeo is a Reno institution.

Explore Virginia City

Take a stroll along the wooden sidewalks of Virginia City and explore what was once the largest mining town in Nevada. With gift shops, historical tours, and a bucket of charm (and other things) Virginia City is a must for those wanting to experience the old wild west. We especially recommend stopping in The Kitchen Sink Bakery and Rotisserie!

Visit Lake Tahoe

The gorgeous Lake Tahoe is less then an hour drive from Reno. Considered "The Bluest Lake in America" it offers wonderful hikes, breathtaking views, and refreshing water for a dip. We recommend carpooling as parking can be difficult.

Visit the National Auto Museum, Nevada Museum of Art, or The Discovery.

If you love cars the National Auto Museum is the place for you! Art lovers will enjoy the Nevada Museum of Art and it’s ever changing exhibits. Last but not least - The Discovery is the perfect place for families to spend an after out of the sun.
