We met as sophomores while studying abroad in the Netherlands. The first time we spoke was before an art history class—Dan mentioned that he was hungry and Elissa, who sat in front of him, turned around and gave him an orange. We became very close friends and eventually started dating as juniors in college. Ten years later, we are so excited to get married and spend our lives together. We currently live in Brooklyn with our two cats, Hale and Harley.

We took a trip to Boston (where we attended college) to celebrate our 9th anniversary. After an afternoon of visiting our old favorite haunts—a bookstore cafe, a coffee shop near campus, our first apartment—Dan proposed at the Esplanade.

We’re getting married in a private ceremony on our 10th anniversary. Our reception will be held on the following day, 9/18/22, at noon at the Chateau in Norton, MA.
