We met at work! Elisia was not interested initially but Joe was persistent...annoyingly persistent. ;) Elisia agreed to a date, never realizing it was actually the start of our beginning. And that date....dinner at a favorite downtown spot and a Spurs game. The night was a slam dunk!

We are both homebodies. While we enjoy a good night out, we like to spend most our time together at home. Watching movies, playing a game, catching up on some anime....oh wait, that's just Joe. Needless to say, we just enjoy being home. So it's no surprise that the proposal happened at home, too. Joe had put a little photo slideshow together and started going through some of the many memories we've made together in the last five years but he was having some technical difficulties getting it to stay loaded on his TV. So while he was attempting to fix it, and completely unaware of what was really going on, Elisia decided to tell Joe a story about WAP and what it meant. She had no clue and had just learned about it that morning while getting her nails done (and if you don't know what it means, just trust us and don't bother finding out). So after she tells her story, Joe simply stares at her, as though he couldn't believe she just told him that story right in the middle of his proposal. But hey, she had no clue! So, completely fed up with the technical issues and Elisia's timely storytelling, he got down on one knee all of a sudden and said "Elisia! Will you marry me?!" Elisia had to pause and put down the sandwich that was in her hand (because yes, they were also eating while all this was going on) so she could quickly pop up in excitement! But she had to swallow her food first before she could say yes ;) All in all, we think it was a very "Joe" proposal. It was perfect.

Who said "I love you" first? Elisia did. We have always shared a love for breakfast, so it became a joke for us to say "I love you infinity plus waffles" (because nothing beats waffles), meaning "I couldn't love you more". We often sign our notes this way, too (yes, we write notes). What was our first date? Spurs game baby! We have started a tradition of going on our "dateaversary" and taking a picture. Hopefully Covid doesn't put an end to that next year! #gospursgo Joe's favorite thing about Elisia? The immense passion she puts into everything she does. Elisia's favorite thing about Joe? His servant's heart. Favorite thing to do together? Relax at home. We're homebodies. If we don't have to be out, we won't be! Which is why we're especially excited to start enjoying our new home.....yep! We bought a house! Moving in April 2021! What are we most looking forward to about marriage? Joe: truly being a family unit, together through everything Elisia: never having to say goodbye

With the COVID-19 situation continuously changing, we will be closely monitoring guidelines and advisories in Texas as our wedding date gets closer. Should any adjustments become necessary, we will be sure to update everyone in as timely a manner as possible. While we understand the seriousness of COVID-19 and take every precaution we can on a day-to-day basis, we purposely chose to hold a smaller wedding to try and prevent any concern for our guests. It is our hope that our guests will not have to wear a mask at our wedding, but we will abide by the rules and restrictions of our venue. As of now, guests are NOT required to wear a mask at our wedding, but anyone is of course more than welcome (and encouraged) to do so. Please know that our seating arrangements for dinner will be family-style and you will be within close proximity to others, but we are doing our best to create a seating arrangement that will group those who already have exposure to each other together. If you, for any reason, do not feel comfortable attending, we will understand completely.
