Maid of Honor
Elise: We have been best friends/honorary sisters for almost 15 years. We met in TEXAS 4H shooting sports as we shot archery together and were shooting sport ambassadors. We have been "ride or die" through all of life's challenges and each other's biggest cheerleaders even 1200 miles apart. Our adventures are legendary (to us at least). You can catch us watching movies or at the closest Buc-ees in Texas!! She's also the mother of the Ring Bearer (Declan), honorary ring bearer (Dane), and honorary flower girl (Darcy)! Fun fact: the first time Danica met Samuel was when she was confronting him for being late to taco night, with a spatula in her hand.
Best Man
Samuel: Josh and I have been friends since high school and have been working together on and off together since graduation. Josh was one of my first friends after moving from Wisconsin. We share many interests including fishing, traveling and garage sales ("Garath Thales"). We've helped each other with just about every project that has come along with houses and cars, and always had each other's back. Even though schedules get busy, he, Branden and I always find time for our shenanigans. He is and will always be one of my closest friends and I am glad to be sharing this special day with him at my side. Elise: Josh and I worked together as coworkers for about a year on the overnight shift in JDC and about another year together on nights in JDC when I became his Sgt. Samuel and I spend time with Josh and his girlfriend Casondra outside of work on double dates. Sometimes in matching sweaters and sometimes not. We are usually doing a fun holiday event that are turning into yearly traditions. Josh and I share a love for Gordon Graham, Christmas, word puns, Mandela affects and odd trivia. Plus he tells me all the dirt on Samuel from their younger days!!
Bridesmaid
Elise: Bailey and I have been best friends since we met in the freshman introductory class at Northern State University as we were both English majors at that time. We were the only girls so we naturally we paired up and stayed that way ever since. We've taken many road trips, some times all the way to Waubay just for ice cream! Bailey loves animals and has been a wonderful auntie to my dogs, past and present. She has even rescued a wild turtle (Harold!) from my fence that we released at Wylie Park, with pictures to prove it! You can catch us both at the WINGS hockey games just about every weekend during the season as we are fanatics!! Sam: Bailey is a good sport and puts up with me and my family during hockey games (Linn's obnoxious bell ringing and "Who's Boyd?").
Groomsman
Sam: I have known Branden as long as Josh, as all three of us met at lunch, where we sat at the same table. Like Josh, we share a lot of the same hobbies like fishing, cars and questionable financial decisions. Even though he abandoned Josh and I to go to "college" and forgot to tell us, he is still a great friend who will make time to help me with my projects. I am happy to share this day with him as I know he will be there on time since I told him that the wedding starts an hour earlier (You know how it is Branden). Like Josh, I can't think of anyone I would want more to be standing with me. Elise: Branden may lack time management skills, but he makes up for it by keeping Sam safe in the shop and shares my ideas of OSHA safety.
Bridesmaid
Elise: Sierra is my soon to be sister in law and has welcomed me in the family. I am happy to call her a sister. We have spent quality time together sharing each others interests and getting toasted on Dirty Shirleys while watching hockey. She has shown me a lot of love and support, and helped both Sam and I get ready to go down the aisle. We have made many memories (Commit to the Pour!) and I can't wait to make more! Sam: Like many siblings, Sierra and I have had our disagreements, but I am glad that we have not let that stop us from beings friends and spending time together as a group or up at the casino. Her support of Elise and I means the world to me.
Groomsman
Samuel: I've known "Gordon" since I moved to JDC in 2019. He was a great coworker and I enjoyed working nights with him, even if he's a hustler when it comes to chess. Gordon has always tried to get me to date Elise from the beginning, but he was kept in the dark about it like everyone else. Even though he was very confident that he knew it would happen, it as still funny to watch the surprise on is face when we told him we were dating. #GotHim! Elise: I've known "Gordon" for many years now as we used to work the nightshift in JDC with Samuel and I. He helped me brush up on my chess skills and fill the nights with entertaining conversation. He also advocated for Sam and I to date and even got to witness the proposal!
Bridesmaid
Samuel: Even though Syd is my little sister, she has a big place in my heart. I'm glad between college plans and teenage life, she has been very helpful and supportive of Elise and I. I hope that her tech and timing skills improve before the wedding since she almost missed filming the proposal. :) Camera or not, I am very glad that she will be standing with us on my wedding day. Elise: Sydney is my soon to be sister in law and she has been a great help with wedding planning. Her and Sierra's support and love mean the world to me. I am so happy to be gaining another sister, even if she takes all my money during family card nights!
Groomsman
John has worked with both Elise and Samuel for the last 7 years between the jail and JDC . Samuel: I met John at party at my parents house many years ago when I was a freshman in highschool. I invited John to play video games with me and that was the start of our friendship. I have always enjoyed talking to him and he has shared a lot of his wisdom with me. Like Joe, he made me feel very welcomed when I starting working for the Sheriff's Office and I was excited when he became my Sgt. He has been instrumental in helping me plan and get ready for the big day. Elise: John and I worked together for a year in JDC and got to know each other really well. John even advocated for Samuel and I to date way back then and my response was “Ew!” :) Samuel and John actually switched spots from JDC to back to the Jail when Samuel needed to be in JDC. John then became a Sgt and helped train me when I became a Sgt. I am so glad that he has always been there for Samuel and is always ready to give advice no matter what situation it thrown at him.
Ring Bearer
Declan is Elise's honorary nephew. His Auntie loves him very much and hopes that some day he will be a hockey nut like her!! His Auntie and soon-to-be Uncle can't wait to take him rock hunting for all shapes and sizes and play in the snow! His siblings in heaven, Dane and Darcy are also honorary ring bearer and flower girl.
Usher
Samuel: I've known Joe since I was 12 years old when my family moved to South Dakota from Montana. I was introduced to Joe through my dad since they both worked at the Brown County Jail as correctional officers. He was very influential on my childhood by taking me out fishing and hunting and teaching me colorful vocabulary. I am very happy that Joe will be part of this special day in my life and Papa Bear to any future Hoppock generations. Elise: I have known Joe for 7 years as we used to work at the Sheriff's Office together. He has a big heart and is a honorary member of the Hoppock-Kamin family. It's not really a family event if Joe doesn't stop by!
