Elise and Luke's story began in May of 2023 when two of their friends decided to get married. Despite both attending Ball State at the same time and having connections among friends, they first met at a bachelor/bachelorette party. Even though they barely spoke to each other, Luke knew there was something different about Elise. He waited patiently to ask her to dance at the wedding, and with the support of their friends, reached out shortly afterwards to ask her on a date. On their first date, Luke took Elise out for brunch and minigolf - where Luke learned that he would forever be tasked with doing all Elise's math. Even so, many more dates followed. Their first few months together were chaotic, with Luke in EMT class and Elise busy with summer jump rope camps and competitions. Despite sometimes only seeing each other once a week (or in some cases, once every several weeks), they made it work. Throughout the next year, Elise and Luke spent a lot more time together - making each other watch movies that the other person didn't really want to watch, frequenting local Mexican restaurants to add to their rankings list, and taking weekend trips to new places (when their crazy schedules allowed it). In March of 2025, they spent a weekend in French Lick, where Luke asked Elise to spend the rest of her life with him. Luke's parents drove down to be surprise photographers, and his dad was hiding in the bushes with a camera to get the perfect shot. Thanks Mom and Dad! Luke even managed to surprise Elise with a celebratory lunch that both their families attended. It was the perfect start to the next chapter in their lives. Now one year later, we are eagerly waiting for our turn to say "I do" and start our future together (and adopt a cat or two). We are so excited about what's ahead and feel incredibly lucky to share this next chapter with the people who mean the most to us.
