FAQs

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is festive formal attire. We recommend men wear a suit and tie. Women (this is Elise speaking), I trust you to dress your best! Floor length dresses are not required, but encouraged! Festive formal attire embraces bright, cheerful colors- sequins and metallics are also great options! Feel free to incorporate rich colors, luxurious fabrics, and accessories.

Question

Can I bring a date/plus one?

Answer

Your invitation will be made out to "(Your Name) & Guest" if a plus one has been given to you. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

While we love and cherish your little ones, we have decided to keep our ceremony and reception adults only (with the exception of a few family members). We encourage you to use our celebration as a fun date night! We appreciate you making prior arrangements so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel(s)?

Answer

No, we will not be providing a shuttle. The Canopy Hilton is directly across the street from our reception venue, while Embassy Suites is 1.5 miles away. We encourage our guests to plan their transportation in advance. Both Uber and Lyft services are available in downtown Grand Rapids.

Question

Is there parking available near your wedding venue(s)?

Answer

The Cathedral of St. Andrew has a dedicated parking lot. There is limited street parking in downtown Grand Rapids, but there is a multitude of parking garages in the immediate area.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

A time for our ceremony will be given on your formal invitation. We ask that you arrive and be in your seat no later than 15 minutes before the ceremony starts. Thank you for helping us ensure our ceremony begins on time.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Absolutely!
