How We Met

Josh was invited to my church to meet me after two of our pastors got the idea to set us up. The only problem... they forgot to tell me, so I left to get lunch with friends without meeting him. It wasn't until two weeks later (after I was clued in) that we finally met. We hit it off immediately and went on our first date a few days later. We spent the next month getting to know one another, meeting each other's friends and families, and watching way too much LSU baseball.

The Proposal

The day we got engaged, I was a little suspicious that it could be the day Josh proposed. After all, we had planned to go out to a nice belated Valentine's Day dinner. However, any suspicions I had were quickly squashed by how normal the day seemed. We went to brunch, washed Josh's car, and spent the afternoon watching TV and playing games. I would later come to find out that this was Josh's plan to throw me off, even going as far to not get a haircut. That evening, we got dressed up and headed to Atlantic Avenue for dinner. Enjoying the meal and time with Josh, I thought everything seemed normal. Meanwhile, dinner felt like an eternity to Josh who was ready to no longer be the keeper of the secret that he was going to propose. After dinner, we walked to a park along the inter-coastal, where Josh gave me with a scrapbook filled with vintage postcards from Boca. Having given up on the idea of getting engaged that night, I suspected nothing as we looked through the book of postcards. It wasn't until Josh handed me another postcard, this time one with a message from him on the back, that I realized what was happening. Josh got on one knee and before he could say anything, I said yes. Afterward, we returned to Josh’s parents' house to celebrate, where he surprised me with my family who traveled down to Boca earlier that day.
