We are a rare success story of “getting-out-of-the-friend-zone”! While we continue to point fingers at who made the first move in an attempt to escape out of the dreaded friend-zone, we cannot deny the fact that we were friends for years prior. It is also safe to say that neither of us envisioned dating the other or let alone - planning a wedding together! But here we are, 5+ years of dating (1.5 years engaged) and now planning a wedding to start our journey in spending the rest of our lives together. A friend of ours, Ashley, happened to be one of Daniel’s younger brother Carl’s best friends. Ashley also happened to be one of Elise’s friends and roommate in college. We eventually all started hanging out and even traveled together years before we started dating. While it is still unknown as to how and when the feelings began to evolve, the timing could not have been more perfect. We then started to realize our commonalities with one another, our shared interests, our differences, and next thing you know - we were inseparable. What drew us together was our laid-back personalities, our sense of humor, the love we have for our families, our ambitious drives, and our mutual interests in music, art, traveling, and of course - food! Trying to plan a wedding during COVID-19 has definitely been interesting - given the fact that we have now had to officially postpone our original March 27, 2021 wedding date. But at the end of the day, we just want to enjoy our special day with our closest family and friends as we plan to take the next step in starting our family soon after. On August 27, 2021, Daniel and Elise had an intimate Civil Wedding at San Francisco's City Hall with their families and bridal party. No vows were exchanged so we cannot wait to share those and celebrate with you all! Stay safe and healthy and we hope to see you there!
