One of our very first dates was a brewery-hopping adventure in historic Sanford, where we wandered from one spot to the next, trying new brews and sharing lots of laughs. It quickly became one of our favorite things to do together—and still is, whether we're exploring new cities or revisiting our local favorites. We’ve listed some of the breweries from that special day and after below so you can check them out during your visit. Each one holds a little memory for us, and we hope you enjoy the experience just as much as we did (and still do!). Brix & Mortar Urban Winery - Sanford
Early on in our dating days, one of our date nights was visiting The Wine Room. It was the perfect spot to unwind, share some laughs, and taste our way through different wines—Chad leans toward bold, dry reds, while I’m all about the sweeter sips. But like all great pairings, we balance each other out perfectly. Tasting wines together has become another adventure we love—whether we’re close to home or halfway around the world, we’re always up for discovering a new favorite pour. The closest winery to our venue is Brix & Mortar Urban Winery, but we’ve also listed a few others below that we’ve visited and enjoyed. New Smyrna Beach
If you’re looking for some fun in the sun during your visit, we highly recommend checking out New Smyrna Beach and Ponce Inlet. These coastal gems are perfect for soaking up the Florida sunshine, grabbing a bite by the water, or just enjoying a relaxed beach day. One of our favorite ways to enjoy the water is jet skiing—Chad owns a few, so it's become one of our go-to adventures! We usually ride around locally, but we've also taken them all the way down to the Keys on one of our many spontaneous getaways. Just a heads-up: November weather in Florida can be hit or miss—it might be warm and sunny, or it could get a little chilly. So pack a mix of beachwear and light layers just in case! Adventure or relaxation—whatever your style, there's plenty to explore nearby!
Mindquest Escape Rooms DeLand
If you're up for a little challenge (and maybe a few laughs), we highly recommend trying out an escape room while you're in town. We’ve done quite a few over the years—it’s one of our favorite date night activities, especially when we want to test our teamwork and problem-solving skills (spoiler: we usually escape… eventually 😅). MindQuest Escape Rooms in DeLand is just a short drive from the venue and offers an exciting way to challenge your wits and teamwork. Whether you're a first-timer or an escape room enthusiast, it's a fantastic way to bond and have fun.
