We met when Andrew was assigned to train me as a new Kennel Technician at Grand Strand Humane Society. While cleaning up after 80+ shelter dogs doesn't make for the most romantic environment, we connected right away. It all started with a simple question while cleaning one of the kennel buildings, "Is that a Lion King tattoo?" That first conversation began one of many to follow, where we explored our shared interests, passions, and goals for the future. The first few months working together we tried and failed many times to get together outside of work, we even had a movie night planned where instead I ended up in the hospital getting stitches in my foot. We finally were able to connect at a staff outing at a local dive bar. We began dating shortly after. In February of 2020 my father passed away, while I travelled back to Chicago for the funeral and to be with family, Andrew stayed at my house to care for my dog and cat. When I returned home we made the decision to have him move in for good. We have now built a life together along with our ever growing family of fur kids Lily, Buckley, Wiley, Taco, Sisu, Bumble, and Kitty. We are very excited to enter into this next chapter and see what new adventures married life brings!

We were enjoying a staycation in Surfside Beach while my mom and cousin were in town visiting. We headed out onto the deck overlooking the beach I was facing the ocean attempting to take a photo of the moon I turned around to head back inside and he was down on one knee holding the ring, of course through many happy tears, I said yes. We can't wait for all of you to share in celebrating this next chapter of our lives. Looking forward to a weekend full of love and fun at the beach!
