We met during a lifeguarding class in 2021. Elise needed the certification to coach and never planned on actually lifeguarding, but she eventually was convinced to work at Splasher’s Waterpark. Little did she know Zach had applied there too. Neither of us expected to cross paths again, much less spend a whole summer working together. It didn’t take long for our coworkers to notice the not-so-subtle crushes we were both trying to play cool. After a few shifts and some team hangouts, we finally stopped overthinking it, and the rest is history.
