Their lives dropped them both in Lexington working at a breakfast joint called First Watch. Beth started working there in 2013. A little over a year later, Pat joined the crew. Although he was shy, he introduced himself and they exchanged pleasantries. However, it took time for their relationship to blossom. It took time for the stars to align and for the universe to create the perfect opportunity for these two souls to bond. In the meantime, they shared occasional greetings, a compliment here and there, mutual friendly nicknames (Patsy and Bessie), and lots of smiles. Never did they speak or see each other outside of work, but there was a subtle chemistry forming between them with each interaction that would eventually manifest into a deep love.

One November day in 2017, while Beth was ironically giving Pat suggestions for cute date ideas, she casually mentioned that she wouldn't mind going on a date with him. That evening, Pat mustered up the courage to text her and suggested they go to the Cincinnati Zoo for the Christmas light display. It was there, on December 13, where they began falling for each other. In the time leading up to the zoo date, they had their first date at Saul Good where they both ordered chicken and waffles.

They soon became inseparable. From going on nature walks to walking around thrift stores, from shootin' hoops to watching The Office, from taking day trips to art museums to taking extended trips to the beach, they began creating lasting memories. They became more and more certain they wanted to grow old with each other. Pat asked Beth to marry him on December 20, 2019 privately and perfectly. And so begins the rest of their story.
