The summer after high school back in 1999, Elisa was working as a bartender at Red Lobster when she noticed a handsome new employee. She hoped perhaps, they would get to know each other. Much to her disappointment, after a short week on the job, Eric realized that a career in serving tables was not for him and he vanished. The stars did not align for them on this occasion because the universe had a bigger plan. Fast forward a decade or so, Elisa was leaving a birthday celebration when she saw a friend she wanted to say goodbye to. Tom was his name, and he wanted to introduce his friend to Elisa before she left. HOLY MACKEREL, it was Eric, the handsome stranger she had worked with all of those years ago. "I know you", she said, "from Red Lobster, we used to work together!" Eric immediately looked over his shoulder and scanned the restaurant to see who had set up this hilarious prank. Eric, laughing out loud said, "Not a chance, you probably weren't even born yet. Plus, I was only there for a week!". Elisa replied, "I know, I remember, you were gone awfully quick". With Elisa's youthful looks and spunky attitude, Eric was baffled that this could even be a remote possibility, let alone the truth! After reminiscing for a short while, and once Elisa had said her farewells, Eric quickly followed her outside onto the sidewalk and asked if he could have her number. She said, "Of course, do you have something to write it down with?". "No", he said, "just tell it to me and I'll remember". What was most shocking to her, yet genuine, was the fact that he had actually committed it to memory, instead of rustling through his pockets for a cell phone, generically adding her to an ever growing list of contacts. He called the very next day, as he said he would, and their eight and a half year long courtship began right then and there. And they have been happily living in sin together ever since. :)
