Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Classy but Comfortable - Nice but not too fancy, a little fun, comfortable for an afternoon in late September. Our colors are dark green and copper; pictures will be outdoors in a beautiful Adirondack fall, with the changing leaves behind us. Specific Advice: Plan for sunshine, but bring something in case it gets breezy. For anyone who would usually wear heels, we recommend either a chunkier heel or those heel covers - or maybe just flats!

Question

What the heck is a handfasting?

Answer

Rather than the exchanging of rings, we are opting to bind ourselves together with a handfasting ceremony. While the origins of this tradition come from old English and Norse handshake agreements, it has blossomed to include more ceremonial and romantic elements - such as binding two lovers together by looping a cord around their joined hands and tying a knot to symbolize their unity.
