Elijah and Natalie met six years ago through mutual friends at a party at Elijah’s house in Fort Collins, Colorado. They got paired up for beer pong, and somewhere along the way Elijah made a very specific deal with himself: if they won, he’d kiss Natalie. They won! After that, they spent a year doing long distance - Natalie in Denver, Elijah in Fort Collins - seeing each other every weekend and slowly turning one lucky game into something a lot more solid.

Natalie and Elijah headed to Breckenridge for what was supposed to be a normal weekend getaway. It was a perfect day - lunch, wandering through shops, and Elijah randomly buying an expensive bottle of wine (which, in hindsight, should have been a clue). Later, Elijah suggested they stop by a lookout point “on a whim.” After a snowy walk, they reached the viewpoint overlooking the lake - where Elijah got down on one knee and asked Natalie to marry him!
