The Colorado National Monument has some amazing road cycling routes (check Strava or message Marta or Eli for .gpx files) and incredible hiking trails: Devil's Kitchen and Serpents Trail are both great options!
Mount Garfield is special to the Morris family. Growing up in Grand Junction, Mount Garfield is one of our more defining landmarks. This hike is an out & back and gives a great overview of the Grand Valley. It's got good vertical (nearly 2000 ft) and is around 4 miles in total! The House family has joined Marta and Birgit here during Christmas vacation!
Looking for a great breakfast/lunch spot? Main Street Bagels is one of Marta's favorite go to spots in town, they've got a great food selection in the downtown area!
Best mountain biking trails of your life!!! Okay, maybe a little dramatic, but these are the trails Marta learned to mountain bike on (and hiking/trail running is great too) in the heart of Grand Junction. Over the years, Eli has grown to love the chunky Lunch Loops trails too! These trails are technical, punchy, and are truly the heart of the GJ cycling scene. If you're interested in riding here, reach out to Marta directly about the best trails to ride or where to find a rental bike while in town!
Wonderful local distillery that's local to Palisade!
