We met at Teen Missions in 2022. Lane was a leader on the Uganda team and Eli was a team member on the India Leadership development team. Eli's sister was on Lanes team as a team member so she heard about Eli during the summer but didn't think much about it. Two months later in September Eli joined the Sojourner School of Ministry where Lane had been going for the past year. From the first day that we met we hit it off and became close friends, our friendship grew very fast and 8 months later Eli asked Lane out and we started dating.

We have been living in different places for the past 7 months. Eli asked Lane's parents for their blessing in August and after he received it he started planning how he would propose. When the day came he surprised lane by flying from Cambodia into Australia where Lane has been living. He coordinated with the staff at tmia the details of how the engagement would go. At one point Lane called him and he had to pretend that he was still in Cambodia so they played chicken noises in the back while he was on the phone, Lane fell for it and thought he was still in Cambodia. The staff got Lane up Mt.Tinbeerwah and once they were up there Eli and Jason walked up to surprise Lane. Eli gave Lane a hug and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes!
