Background: Elijah was in 7th grade and Faith was is 6th grade at Bell Mountain Middle School. We went to Elementary School together too but didn't know each other that well yet. So, of course everyone loved Elijah with his huge smile and friendly "Hi there!'s". Faith's friend pointed Elijah out and said, "That's Elijah, he's in my band class and I want to be his girlfriend." Faith replied with, "Oh, crap. He's gonna be my husband." As a little ten year old Faith thought boys were gross and so the fact she knew she was going to marry him, wasn't very exciting at the time, but then as she got to know him the idea of marrying him wasn't such a bad thing (it's actually one of the best things ever!). & now, WE'RE GETTIN' MARRIED!
At the beginning of high school Elijah invited Faith to the Christian Club on campus called Student Venture (Which Joe Strange, the officiant and best man was the pastor of). This place was where our lives got radically changed (Thanks God, and Joe + Krystle). So a group of us friends would always hang out and that's how we got to really know each other. The next year, we had our first class together, which was Chemistry class! & that's where our chemistry really started to build. ;) We became best friends and both confessed our major crushes for each other. We prayed for a really long time about when we should officially start dating, because we knew it would be a while until we could get married. So we were best friends, went to prom, and then about 6 months later officially started dating. (10.08.2015)
It started off as an epic date day down at Newport Beach, CA. We hung out at the beach, got some pizza, went to get a milkshake at Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier, and then on an awesome gondola ride! Pretty much Faith's idea of a perfect day. BUT THEN, we drove over to Crescent Bay beach (aka the most beautiful intimate beach ever) and we were just strolling along and then we go behind this cliff that was sticking out and there was a beautiful set up of blankets, pillows, flowers, and candles. Elijah said, "Let's go over there and sit down." and Faith knew it was about to go down. We sat down at the picnic spot, and there was this big bowl that Elijah took down to the water and filled up. He came back and read John 13, which has Faith's favorite verse: John 13:7, "For what I am doing now, you do not understand, but later you will understand." In this chapter Jesus washes the disciples feet, so that's what Elijah started doing, washing Faith's feet. And then he proposed! & Faith said, "YES!"
