Elijah and I had visited the Chinese Lantern Festival in Cary, NC once before we decided to go again around Christmastime. My mom was in town for the holidays, so we made it a family event bringing Elijah, myself (Bella), Megan, Colby, Ms. Cermin, and Mr. & Mrs. Agu. I adored the Lantern festival the first time we went, so it was a treat for me to go again. We walked around and chatted, while Mrs. Agu took pictures (she enjoys taking pictures so I didn't think anything of it.) We got to my favorite part of the festival - the Wisteria tunnel. We made it through about halfway before I turned around and saw he was on one knee. The tunnel was purple when he asked me, pink when I said yes, and green (the same as my engagement ring) when he put the ring on my finger. It was just magical. Wisteria in the Chinese culture has the reputed ability to overcome obstacles and bring prosperity & success. It was the perfect symbol to carry throughout in our wedding and our married life.
