Hannah and Brandon graduated from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls, both studying agricultural topics. Hannah remembers Brandon sitting in front of her in an integrated pest management class.. That is when she attended class.. and just admired his good looks and personality. After some Instagram stalking, Brandon messaged Hannah and said she had the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. This romantic ploy, lead to much more conversation and the two getting to know each other more. On New Years Eve a few weeks later, they met out in downtown River Falls. The Nutty Squirrel Sports Saloon is where Brandon first introduced Hannah to "Mich Picks" a Michelob Golden Light & Pickle beer. Hannah met Brandon's high school friends and the pair continued to talk throughout the night.

After New Years, the pair communicated briefly, sharing snapchats of farming and adventures they had taken over the months. Fall of 2020, Brandon had already graduated early from UWRF but was up for the weekend visiting buddies. Alli Jo (Hannah's best friend & roommate) had texted Hannah and said "Hey I am at this party and Brandon Hernke is here wondering where you are!" So, Hannah came out to the party after work, her and Brandon sat in the kitchen and talked like they were the only people in the whole house. March of 2021, Hannah got a job in Goodhue, MN and was going to be moving back home. She remembered how much Brandon enjoyed dirt track racing and asked Brandon wanted to go sometime over the Summer. The two caught up and got to know each other better talking everyday. Eventually, before graduation they went on their first date. The date consisted of beers & burgers at Kings and driving around blasting and singing their favorite songs. Time seemed to fly as the two spent many hours in the tractor jamming to their favorite songs and getting to know each other better. On May 23rd, 2021 Brandon asked Hannah to be his girlfriend at the Lake Byllsby Dam.

After 8 months of enjoying each others company and growing in love, Brandon proposed. Hannah always said she would want to be surprised, and Brandon surprised her good. A week prior to the proposal, Brandon asked Hannah to go and walk around Lake Byllesby and then get lunch at Kings Place (the two places where their story began). Hannah had an inkling that something may be in the works but did not assume farther. Once at the dam on Lake Byllesby Brandon got down on one knee and asked Hannah to make him the happiest man in the world!
