Eli likes to say he “poached” Jenifer from a welding class—and honestly, he’s not wrong. Years ago, Jenifer’s family decided she might make a great welder and gifted her a class at Kilroy’s Workshop. Naturally, she didn’t use it… until this past January, when she woke up one day and decided it was suddenly her destiny to become a welder. She signed up for a six-week course starting just two days later. On the first morning of class, she showed up excited… and very sick. Determined not to miss day one, she walked in and immediately noticed Elias. Even while trying not to be sick, she couldn’t help but be struck by him. About 30 minutes into the safety lesson, she made a very quick exit. Elias, of course, assumed he had somehow scared her off. The next week, Jenifer returned feeling much better, but he wasn’t her instructor. Although she often saw him running around the shop as the general manager, she never quite managed a natural introduction. Instead, she resorted to what could only be described as very light stalking—lingering nearby, pretending to be on her phone, and taking every opportunity to quietly notice him. It wasn’t until a few weeks in, when her instructor, Robbie, was out sick, that Elias stepped in to teach the class. She jokingly protested the change (having made it very clear how much she liked Robbie as an instructor), but it didn’t take long for things to shift. Just a few hours into that first day, she asked Elias for help with a weld and somehow steered the conversation toward why he didn’t wear a wedding ring… just in case. What began as flirting quickly turned into intentional courtship, then love, and now their union in holy matrimony. We are so excited to celebrate the beginning of our life together with all of you.
