Sparky's Homemade Ice Cream
Eliane works here scooping ice cream and Joe has a huge sweet tooth, so this is a must visit. Sparky's has many of the typical ice cream flavors, but also rotates about half of the flavors (we call them "choice flavors") so there is always something new to try. Joe's faves are mango and mint chip, Eliane loves raspberry and any of the weird choice flavors!
Billiards on Broadway
This is where Joe works as a bartender. Great if you'd like a bite to eat, a local craft beer, and to play some pool!
Uprise Bakery
This place does it all - check it out in the morning for Eliane's favorite latte (lavender honey or whatever special they have!) and some great pastries, go for lunch for Joe's favorite sandwich (the Cuban or Bahn Mi), or go at night for a quick drink. Attached to Uprise is also Hitt Records if you're looking for some vinyl along with RagTag cinema if you'd like to enjoy a movie.
Columbia Farmers Market
The farmers market takes place each Saturday from 8am-noon. Eliane loves going with her mom, Shelley, to find great candles, the best sourdough bread, and the best looking produce. Also available is breakfast scrambles, smoothies, coffee, pastries, and other little treats.
Harmony Bends Championship Disc Golf Course at Strawn Park
Anyone that knows Joe knows he disc golfs! This is his favorite course, but is also a gorgeous walk if you aren't the disc golfing type.
Grindstone Nature Area
Great trail system for a little hike!
Witches & Wizards Arcade
Fun little arcade with a flat $10 fee for unlimited gaming. They serve some canned drinks and host events every now and then!
Irene's
Delicious mexican BBQ, tacos, beer, and craft cocktails. What more could you want?! This is a new spot in Columbia but has quickly become one of our favorites.
Ozark Mountain Biscuit & Bar
This is one of our favorite spots for a date night! They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you can really choose your own adventure on this one. Joe loves any chicken sandwich and Eliane loves the blackened catfish. We BOTH love the caesar salad, which you can make an entree by adding chicken.
Murry's
Also a favorite date night spot, this restaurant has live music some nights and great romantic atmosphere. Joe always gets the beef philly and Eliane gets the lemon pesto chicken. Try the margarita if you want a drink with dinner!
