Located in the center of Avon, it's within walking distance of any hotel you stay at in town. There is a pretty walking/biking pathway around the perimeter of the lake. Additionally, you can rent paddle boards, paddle boats, fish, swim, picnic on the beach, play pickleball...there is something for everyone. During the summer they always have live music and yoga classes on the weekends at the pavilion adjacent to the lake as well.
Outfitter for bike rentals (road, cruiser, ebike, mountain). There are some awesome trails around Nottingham Lake, along the Eagle River, Vail Pass Path along I-70 and down any of the ski mountains. High Gear Cyclery is another solid, smaller outfitter in Avon.
Address is to Vail Village Parking (free). Follow signs through the village to Gondola 1 at the base of the mountain. Purchase tickets for the day to ride to the top and enjoy the views! There are some awesome hikes from the top of the gondola along with a laid back "Beach Bar", lawn chairs and cornhole.
There is a surplus of beautiful hiking trails around Avon/Beaver Creek/Vail. Some of our favorites have been on the North side of I-70 opposite the ski mountain towns, such as the North Loop Trail (Aspen's galore), Lost Lake Trail, Red & Blue Mountain...the list is never ending. You can't go wrong!
