FAQs

Question

Dress Code

Answer

We want everyone to show up in the silliest, most whimsical, joy-filled outfits you can dream up. This is not a formal wedding. It’s a colorful, playful celebration on the lake, and we want your outfits to match the vibes. Think: Anything Fancy Nancy would dramatically twirl in Glitter, ruffles, sparkles, boas Fun hats, crowns, funky sunglasses Maximalist prints and bold colors Retro, campy, or costume-adjacent pieces Tutus, capes, accessories Silly shirts, bright socks, anything that makes you smile Swimsuits are encouraged! Feel free to wear fun, playful swimwear for a dip in the lake No need to match a theme or be coordinated. The louder, sillier, and more expressive, the better. If it feels fun, whimsical, or delightfully over-the-top, you nailed it. Comfort is still key (outdoors, lakeside, lots of movement), so feel free to combine practicality with full-on silliness. Wear something that brings out your inner child, makes you laugh, or makes other people say, “YES. That.”

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

Plan to arrive around 1:30 PM so everyone can settle in before the ceremony starts at 2:00 PM.

Question

Where is the ceremony and what is it like?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at Grandma’s house: 16301 Sunset Trail, Pine City, MN. It’s a short, standing ceremony, but if you need to sit, you are welcome to. The bride and groom will not be reading their own vows publicly. Instead, we’ll be saying traditional Celtic vows. And no, it’s not an Outlander thing, just proudly Irish, and keeping it meaningful for us!

Question

What should I bring?

Answer

Lawn or camping chair, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, bug spray, blankets for bonfire, and any drinks or personal items you want for lake fun. There will be drinks available but if you have a preference you are welcome to bring your own.

Question

Is the wedding kid friendly?

Answer

Kids are more than welcome! Please note, there will not be a babysitter on-site, and alcohol will be freely available. We kindly ask that parents keep an eye on their children throughout the day to ensure everyone stays safe and has fun.
