Walker's Drive In - Leila's high school job! Order a fried pie. Brent's Drugs - A 60's style diner known for its milkshakes and fries. Mayflower Cafe - If you head downtown, make sure to check out this Jackson icon. Keifers - Mediterranean food that doesn't disappoint. Don't miss the hummus and the pita mozz! Fertile Ground - This block is full of fun restaurants and bars. Head to Fertile Ground or Rowan's for a drink, grab a slice of pizza at Poppy's Pies, enjoy a nice dinner at Pulito Osteria, and finish it all off with ice cream at Mayday.
Two Mississippi Museums - Leila's first museum job and top recommendation, The Mississippi History and Civil Rights Museum are absolutely excellent and always worth the visit. Natural Science Museum & Mississippi Children's Museum - Located next door to each other in Lefleur's Bluff, these two are perfect, especially for young children. Plus, they have the seal of approval from all of Leila and Eli's nieces and nephews! Mississippi Museum of Art - The permanent collection will be open for you to enjoy during the reception, but art lovers interested in the special exhibitions should visit in advance, as they’ll be closed during the event. Jackson’s Museum Trail connects many of the city’s top museums and offers three miles of public art and interactive elements. If you want tips or tricks, talk to Maid of Honor Celeste - her run club loves to hit the trail!
End of All Music - Our favorite record store and the place where Eli proposed, so it’s extra special to us. If you love music, this spot is a must-visit. Banner Hall - Home to some of Jackson’s best shops and restaurants. While you’re here, you absolutely have to stop by Lemuria Books, one of the best independent bookstores around. Highland Village - An open-air shopping center filled with local boutiques, great lunch spots, and plenty of outdoor seating, perfect if you luck into one of those beautiful 70-degree December days. Renaissance at Colony Park - Even more shopping and dining options (including Eli’s go-to, Chicken Salad Chick). It’s also conveniently located near the Ridgeland hotel!
