You can travel by car (reservation well in advance for a spot), or you can travel as a passenger, leaving your car at one of its parking lots and shuttling to the ferry terminal. We welcome AIRBNBs all over the island with a friendly reminder that you will need to provide your own transportation to and from Edgartown during before and after each event. Accommodations on the Island fill extremely quickly and will start to open up October 1. 2024. We recommend booking soon to make sure you have the best experience on Island.

By Taxi or Uber/Lyft: Uber and Lyft are easily accessible in Edgartown, Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven. Past 8pm you may see longer wait times, 20 minutes or longer. Consider requesting an Uber a few minutes before your ferry arrival time. Taxis are also available during most of the day or night. By Bus: Martha's Vineyard has year-round public transportation. Take a look here for more info on schedules and fares: https://www.vineyardtransit.com/. By Rental Car: Renting a car is easy on island. Many smaller shops rent jeeps and other vehicles. The airport also has Budget, Hertz, and Avis. By Bike: Martha's Vineyard has excellent biking trails throughout the Island. Wheel Happy in downtown Edgartown has some of the best rates on the Island. Visiting Up-Island: For a well-rounded trip to Martha's Vineyard, we highly recommend a trip Up-Island (West Tisbury, Chilmark, and Aquinnah). However, it is rather difficult for visitors to get there without a car - with Uber/Lyft options leading to longer wait times. Consider contacting a tour group, or renting a car for a day so you know you have reliable transportation back to your accommodations.
