This is a local Gem! The grounds are open 365 days a year and it is FREE! There are two sections of the arboretum. One has the Francis Cope House on it with expansive rolling hills and, of course, trees, and the other half of the property houses the farm. You can see the Philly Goat Project and meet all of the goats in the herd. You can also stroll past the small local plots of veggies, and flowers and the bee hives. Check out the website link for a map of the grounds.
Here is one of the entrances to Wissahickon park. A great place to soak in the nature of the 2,042 acres of wooded trails.
This is another place to park and enter the Wissahickon Park. This is used as an off-leash dog park most of the time, so if you don't want to run into off-leash dogs, avoid this entrance. If you walk past the pavilion you will find several different trails to choose from that will take you to views of the Wissahickon creek.
This is one of my favorite local spots. They make their own hard cider and have great tasty and interesting offerings. Indoor and outdoor seating where you will find all of the locals running into each other. It's a magical little place!
