Book your flights ideally no later than October for cheaper prices. The airport on the island is César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport also known as Lanzarote Airport (ACE). 

 Use google flights or sky scanner to help find the most affordable flight.  If you search theses apps multiple times make sure to clear the cache before each flight search as  websites often up the price of the flight the more you check.

 A strategy we used was looking at the calendar on google flights for the the cheaper days in green and then checking sky scanner for the same dates to compare.

Airbnb is also a good option.

Renting a car will be the easiest way to get around. If you drive make sure you have an international drivers permit. Its very easy to obtain.
