"For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate" 7-9
We grew up together in church from Sunday school, to Wednesday night service, we grew a deeper love for God. As our relationship grew deeper with God, so did our friendship. By the time we were in middle school we felt inseparable. Finally, March of 2015 Xavior asked Elena to be his girlfriend. What we thought would be a childhood crush grew into the deepest bond and unconditional love we've ever experienced and our shared faith in God became the foundation of our relationship.
Xavior asks Elena to be his girlfriend.
On a random Sunday afternoon in the middle of fall, he asked her to go on a date in the mountains for the day. Without hesitation, she said yes. We had been talking about marriage since we were kids, we knew we wanted this and God wanted this for us. After some family time, we take off to the mountains without any idea that she would come home a fiancé. We arrived at our favorite lookout in Big Bear, CA called Boulder Bay Park. We held hands as we walked onto the dock and talked about the future we were both so excited for. As we were feelings all the feels, the man of her dreams went down on one knee and asker her to spend the rest of her life with him. Her 13 year old self was screaming, and her 22 year old self was crying as she said yes.
As most of you know, we got married on 2/4/24 with our closest family and friends.
Our first year of marriage was filled with love, laughter, growth, and a lot of patience. We moved in together the day after we got married! The moment we said "I do" our journey as husband and wife began. We settled into our first apartment together, and both started new jobs! We have faced challenges, and losses but our God keeps us strong and our love and commitment to each other keeps us going! We have learned how to communicate, forgive, cherish, and nurture one another. Our first year of marriage was a beautiful year, but we CAN'T wait to celebrate our love with our favorite people.
