We are getting married

It doesn't happen often when you meet someone and you just know that you were meant to be together. When Pablo and I met it truly was love at first sight. Here is our story as it is still being written.

We were both living in the Netherlands, but in different cities. Elena was there for her Masters degree, and Pablo had been there already for a decade. Like many of our generation, we met on a dating app. Pablo asked Elena to meet at a beautiful park near his work. Pablos favourite memory was seeing Elena ride up on her little bike with wheels way to small for a traditional Dutch bike. We both knew then this was different. We walked and talked for hours in the Dutch country side. Neither one of us wanted it to end... until Pablo had to run for the last train home. Three months later we moved in together.

He said on our second date he would move to Canada, and then it actually happened.

On one of our favourite hikes in the Niagara Escarpment, down by the water, Pablo got on one knee and asked Elena to marry him. Neither one of us remembers what Pablo said. Elena blacked out in tears and said "yes!".

April 14, 2025 we met our daughter, Gabriella Mare Zehm, for the first time. Our beautiful angel joined our family. On the day she was born we booked the venue for our wedding from the hospital bed. We are already a family and now excited to share our love and journey with all of you!
