We’re Getting Married

Nuestra historia comenzó en el invierno de 2011, cuando nos conocimos en una posada en nuestra iglesia. Con solo 14 años, éramos dos adolescentes disfrutando de la temporada navideña, sin imaginar que ese encuentro marcaría el resto de nuestras vidas. Un año y medio después, nos fuimos acercando más, pasando más tiempo juntos durante el verano y formando un lazo especial que pronto se convirtió en algo más. Para el 8 de agosto de 2013, hicimos nuestra relación oficial, y desde entonces hemos estado juntos. Con el tiempo, crecimos lado a lado, enfrentando desafíos y persiguiendo nuestros sueños. Armando terminó su licenciatura y luego estudió derecho, mientras que yo me enfoqué en completar mis estudios y construir mi carrera. Sabíamos que queríamos un futuro juntos, pero primero teníamos que prepararnos para ello. Entonces, en 2023, lo que pensé que sería un simple viaje a Playa del Carmen para celebrar nuestro décimo aniversario se convirtió en uno de los momentos más inolvidables de mi vida. Sin sospechar nada, me llevé la sorpresa de mi vida cuando Armando se arrodilló y me pidió matrimonio. Después de casi 10 años juntos, fue el “sí” más fácil que he dado. De ser dos adolescentes en una posada a compañeros de vida, nuestra historia de amor ha sido de paciencia, crecimiento y apoyo incondicional. Ahora, mientras iniciamos este nuevo capítulo, no podríamos estar más emocionados por todo lo que viene. Our journey began in the winter of 2011, when we met at a posada at our church. At just 14 years old, we were two kids caught up in the joy of the holiday season, unaware that this simple meeting would shape the rest of our lives. A year and a half later, we found ourselves growing closer, spending more time together over the summer, and forming a bond that would soon turn into something more. By August 8, 2013, we made it official—and we’ve been together ever since. Over the years, we grew up side by side, navigating life’s challenges and chasing our dreams. Armando pursued his undergraduate degree and later went on to law school, while I focused on completing my own degree and building my career. We knew we wanted to build a future together, but first, we had to lay the foundation. Then, in 2023, what I thought was a simple trip to Playa del Carmen to celebrate our 10-year anniversary turned into one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. Completely unsuspecting, I was taken by surprise when Armando got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After nearly 10 years together, it was the easiest “yes” I’ve ever said. From teenagers at a posada to partners in life, our love story has been one of patience, growth, and unwavering support. And now, as we step into this new chapter, we couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.
