Is there a dress code?

Answer

Formal is requested, but not required. This is the time to wear that gown or suit jacket that has been sitting in your closet for years!

Do you have a room block at any hotels? What hotels are nearby?

We have a room block at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Gettysburg. What is parking like at the Church and Venue?

Answer

Once you turn onto the campus, you should see signs directing you where to park at Mount St. Mary's. It is in the parking lot where you see the building that looks like an airplane hanger. For the reception venue, there is a large parking lot visible when you drive up for you to park in.

How do I get to the Chapel once I am parked?

Answer

Once you're parked, go up the hill towards the building with a bell tower. It's about a 2 minute walk with a slight incline and a number of steps. If you want to drop someone off so they do not have to walk, you can drive past the airplane hanger and towards the seminary building. Pass the seminary and drop them off at the side of the chapel.

How accessible are the areas?

Answer

The chapel has steps to climb to get inside, but if you would like to avoid the steps, there is a no step entrance on the left side of the chapel where someone can be dropped off right at that door. The venue has very few steps and a ramp on the right leading into the building. It is easy to be dropped off right in front of it as well.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Absolutely!

Will the ceremony and/or reception be outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be in a chapel indoors. The reception has an outdoor area with seating to enjoy the beautiful weather, but the meal and dancing will be inside.

Will transportation be provided throughout the evening?

Answer

We ask that you find your own way to the chapel and the reception.

May I bring a plus one or children?

Answer

While we would love to invite everyone, we are only able to include those specifically named on the invitation.

I have dietary restrictions, how should I inform the bride and groom?

Answer

If you have any dietary restrictions/allergies, please notify the bride or groom in a note when you RSVP. We will share with the venue who can accomadate you.

Will there be an after party?

Answer

The bride and groom are great morning people, but not so much at night, so there will be no afterparty. We hope you have so much fun during the event that you'll be just as tired as we will be after a night of fun!
