I was invited to a so called "bonfire" by a classmate who also happened to be on the baseball team. When I arrived with some friends I was met with country music, s'mores, and a fire pit. Coming from the wilderness of Vermont I thought the term "bonfire" was a bit of a stretch. The house happened to belong to a certain tall, dark, and handsome pitcher for the baseball team. We talked a bit and clearly he appreciated my fiery personality and didn't mind at all that I was giving him a hard time about his "bonfire." The following Monday, our mutual friend asked me if I remembered John from the other night. The guy from LA with the belt buckle, and cowboy boots? You bet I did! John had asked our friend to put in a good word for him and so I agreed to give him my number. We started texting and we both felt an immediate connection. After our first date to The Old Spaghetti Factory, I called my friend and said "don't tell anyone because I know I sound crazy, but I could see myself marrying this guy." She agreed that I did in fact sound crazy, but hey, look at us now!
