Like all good Millenials, Aditya and Eleanor met on Hinge. Although they grew up on different sides of the world, they have a lot of similar interests. Both of their profiles included a photo snowboarding, hiking, swimming and playing guitar. Their first date was on "Little Island" in Manhattan. They had planned just to meet for an hour, but ended up chatting for almost three. Eleanor instantly felt at ease with Aditya. She was struck by his friendly nature and contagious smile. Aditya found Eleanor to be just as beautiful on the inside as out. Her passion for life was inspiring. By the end of the night, they were holding hands. On their third date they went on a hike at Mohonk Mountain House in Upstate New York called "Lemon Squeeze". The hike involved squeezing through a small rock crevice in order to reach a beautiful overlook. Eleanor appreciated how attentive Aditya was during the hike. He always offered her a hand, was courteous and let her lead. Aditya was impressed with how Eleanor seemed to thrive out in nature and loved a challenge. When faced with a decision between a rocky route or an easier alternative, she took the rocky one, no questions asked. After the hike, they ate at a Carolina BBQ joint and bonded over how Eleanor grew up in Asheville, NC and Aditya studied his Master's in Engineering at UNC Charlotte. It was on this date that they started imagining a life together. Aditya proposed at Mohonk Mountain House on January 28, 2024. It was a magical day. Although it had been raining the entire drive, the rain turned to snow as they gained elevation. The photos look like it was planned, but the proposal was actually a surprise. Aditya told Eleanor that they needed to dress up for a friend's 30th birthday brunch. However, when they arrived at the restaurant there was just a table reserved for two and Aditya explained that the birthday crew was running late. After brunch, he suggested they go for a walk around the lake. When Eleanor saw a photographer hiding in the bushes she knew what was about to happen! The photos included on the website are from the proposal. The hope is that the wedding will be a beautiful mix of friends and family from all of the places that helped form Aditya and Eleanor as individuals- Jamshedpur, India; Western North Carolina; Pittsburg, PA; Lima, Peru; Charlotte, NC; Panama City, PA; New York, NY and their new home in Connecticut. They look forward to celebrating love with you all!
