When it comes to food and drink, you can't go wrong in New Orleans. Here are just a few of our favorite spots. Note that some are located in Uptown-- a short trolley or drive away but great if you want an escape from the French Quarter. Outside of food and drink options, we have also listed some great daytime activities.

Come for the live jazz and stay for the tableside Bananas Foster. Reservations encouraged. Dress code: Business Casual. Collared shirts are required for gentlemen. No t-shirts, athletic shorts or flip flops are permitted.

Commander's Palace is located in the heart of the historic New Orleans Garden District. It is considered a New Orleans staple, offering some of the best Cajun cuisine in the world. You will need a reservation to dine here. Dress code: Business Attire. Jackets are preferred for gentlemen. Collared shirts and closed-toed shoes required for gentlemen. No shorts, flip-flops, t-shirts, sweat shirts or sweat pants. Jeans are discouraged; ripped jeans are not allowed.

Open since 1979, Mr. B's Bistro is located in the heart of the French Quarter. It's known for dishes such as Gumbo Ya Ya, Barbequed Shrimp, and Bread Pudding with Irish Whiskey Sauce. On weekdays, they serve $1.50 Martinis and Bloody Mary's during lunch. Reservations encouraged. Dress code: Upscale casual. Some gentlemen wear a sport coat, some wear a collared shirt and nice jeans. Gentlemen wearing sleeveless shirts are not permitted.
